Unresolved Issues.

I watched a documentary about a now deceased famous female singer from the USA that died when she was in her late 40's, and as I watched her family members and her speak about her life I learnt a great deal about unresolved issues and how they impact us more than we realise.

What I learnt from watching this was:

If people do not resolve things from the past, they never go away.

If we deal with our problems through the appropriate manner, we can overcome the feelings associated with that issue and when it occurs in the future, we are better equipped with how to react in a positive manner for our best outcome.

That people give up their dreams often because their loved ones feel left behind in the shadows.

However, if we let people, follow their dreams they will take us with them on the journey, if they are meant to be in our life. We must remember that some people are for a reason, a season, or a lesson. Accept that and trust that God/the Universe has a plan, so we must trust him that he has our best interests at heart.

That without a purpose in your life that you are passionate about, people tend to give up.

The mistake that well intentioned people make is thinking that if I give a person who is depressed a purpose that they will have hope, and not engage in destructive behaviour.

However, unless the depressed person is PASSIONATE ABOUT the purpose and has the emotional, psychological, motivational, and physical ability to commit to it then it is better not to be suggested.

I say this because they would not and cannot commit to it and it will only make them feel worse.

If it is something they are passionate about and they do not feel pressured to commit to it, then they will make the effort to commit to it because it makes them happy.

We all know that no one’s life is perfect and that our smiles and voices can look and sound beautiful on the outside but hide so much pain on the inside.

I hope that as we go about our day that we remember to have compassion for those we meet and even those that have done wrong against us as you do not know what pain they are hiding inside.

We all want to be loved (even the tough men, who don’t talk about their feelings) but some people are not able to feel love because of toxic substances and destructive behaviour but we should try to remember that they deserved to be loved.

May we all remeber to show love, compassion and understanding to all.
