The song Nothing Else Matters by Metallica is a true testament to honesty and exposing yourself, putting your real self out there, and taking the risk, taking a leap of faith that someone that you know in your heart will put their heart right next to your heart, but you never know until you try.
I am a firm believer that Heavenly Father (God/the Universe) gave us the gift of the Holy Ghost which is our Intuition (gut feeling) to guide us.
As humans we tend to let logical facts, material possessions/goals, jealous people and insecure emotions get in the way, but we need to listen to the small still voice of the Holy Ghost/our Intuition.
As James Hetfield said - when we do the right thing, from the heart you can’t go wrong.
The ultimate meaning of the song is taking the initiative to express your feelings, even though doing so makes you vulnerable to heartbreak and other potential risks.
If the bond between two people is strong distance doesn’t matter; it is also an encouragement to accept and actually feel the feeling of vulnerability by having faith in the relationship and ignore whatever else may be going on in the world, implicitly when it comes to those who may be negatively criticising their feelings.
Expressing such intimate feelings, it will benefit the relationship when you are “forever trusting who we are”, so never doubt nor fight the feeling.
