How to overcome Emotional Abuse (Intimidation, Gaslighting or Ghosting)

If you have ever felt that someone is intimidated by you; has gossiped about you or has emotionally abused (gaslighted or ghosted etc) you - it is highly likely that it occurred because they perceive that you possess the below listed qualities, which they feel that they themselves lack:

1. You are good-looking

2. You are successful

3. You are strong

4. You are intelligent

5. You are wise

6. You are abundant (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control) these are eternal.

7. You are confident

8. You are independent

9. You are charismatic

10. You are knowledgeable

11. You have positive personality traits

12. You are masculine

13. You are feminine

14. You are too different - Feminine men and masculine women intimidate people because they are very different from most people.


If you feel intimidated by someone, here are some tips to help you overcome that:

1. Improve your self-confidence.

2. Improve your self-love.

3. Do not compete with anyone else.

4. Do not compare yourself with others.

5. Ground your identity in your own and God’s opinion (if you believe in God) of you, not other people's.

6. Remember that abundance is not about material possessions, fame, achievement, recognition, popularity, and accomplishments, those are temporal.

7. Stop trying to be like them.

8. Learn how to overcome your insecurities.

9. Humanise Your “Monster” – no one is perfect, so remember that.

10. Know your true value.

11. Do things to boost your ego (to a healthy level).

12. Be grateful for everything in your life.

13. Learn to express compassion and empathy for others.

14. Focus on how the other people that you interact with might be feeling.

15. Use comic visualisation (imagine the people that you are dealing with dancing in a tutu and belting out an ABBA tune).


We are should focus on growing and evolving to be the best version of ourselves to be a better version than we were yesterday.
